Phelps Chapel is involved in many different types of ministries. In addition to our Sunday morning worship service, children’s and adult Sunday schools we offer a yearly Vacation Bible School for the children of our church as well as the children in our community. We also have a women’s group who meet monthly. This group of dedicated women, meet to discuss and coordinate various festivals and projects that make up a part of our community outreach.
Some of our community outreach projects include quarterly blood drives in partnership with the American Red Cross, the Backpack program which provides backpacks filled with food items for students in our local elementary and middle schools. The Warm & Fuzzy project makes and distributes items such as fleece hats, scarves, mittens and blankets to those in need. The Church has left the building is an annual outreach project in which church members go out into the community to offer their help to various businesses and community members.
We have monthly collections of food and personal items that are donated to our local food bank. We travel to Mission Central in Mechanicsburg, PA to spend time working on projects such as flood buckets, birthing kits, school kits, layette kits among others. Our annual Yard Sale offers many different types of items that are by donation only (no pricing) that we pray are a benefit to those who are in need. We also have several festivals during the year we use to raise money for a wide variety of needs. In the past some of these have been for fire victims within our community.
Phelps Chapel truly has a big heart for our community and we pray that God continues to use us to further his work within our community and throughout the world.
